Preschool Games for Creative Thinking | The Preschooler

ThinkFun Games

I was sitting at the kitchen table of a friend of mine while watching all of our children play.  On her kids wondered over to the table and asked if she could play a game.  Her mother quickly retrieved the game she requested and her four-year-old began to delight in  completing a wonderfully educational, mind-stretching game that was perfect for her level of learning.

The game, called “Rush Hour, Jr.”, is made by a company called “ThinkFun”.  After visiting their web site, I have discovered that they have designed and manufactured a large array of educational, puzzle-type games.  Although most of them can be played by just one person, they have also created a small line of family games.

The web site, http://www.thinkfun.com/,  is also easy to navigate.  You can go directly to the “Junior” games or you can sort by skill levels, ages, prices (which are very reasonable), or number of players.

It was amazing to sit and watch my friend’s daughter sit and play so intently with this game.  She would giggle with delight each time she completed a puzzle, and she was insistent on trying more difficult levels of play.  The best part was when she actually had to fight off her siblings who also wanted to play!
